The campsite has a large kitchen and dining area, a small kitchen and dining area, and a day room. These three rooms are linked, and can be booked individually or in any combination depending on the users of the site. There is also a separate training room, which can be used for a variety of purposes. The locations of the three main rooms and the training room are shown on the campsite map.
Large Kitchen and Dining Area
The kitchen contains two catering-size gas ranges, providing twelve burners and two large ovens. There are also a freezer, a refrigerator, an immersion water-heater, a supply of catering-size pots and pans, and cooking utensils. The dining area has fold-away tables with seats attached for 48, plus other tables and chairs to suit different requirements.
Small Kitchen and Dining Area
The kitchen contains two domestic ovens, one gas and one electric, each with four hobs. There are a freezer, refrigerator, immersion water-heater, smaller pots and pans, and cooking utensils. The dining area has fold-away tables with seats attached for 24, plus other tables and chairs to suit different requirements. A limited supply of crockery and cutlery is available.
The Day Room and Reception Lobby
The Day Room is an open-plan room. A small adjoining room can be used as a leaders' room. In front of the Day Room is the Reception Lobby. It contains a fridge and freezer which are available for use by those camping.
An outside view of the three rooms is shown below. The large kitchen is in the foreground.
Training Room
The Training Room can be used for courses, having tables, chairs, a screen, and a whiteboard. It can also be used by groups for other indoor activities. With some imagination it can be used for Beaver sleep-overs.
Toilet Block
The toilet block includes showers, disabled facilities, and an Elsan disposal point. The hot water supply (including that for the showers) uses gas heaters that heat the water on demand, which means that it can take the hot water some time to come through warm.
